This year, the South Korean tech behemoth unveiled Galaxy AI with its S24 smartphone series, as device makers attempt to entice users to upgrade to premium handsets.
As it continues to expand its capabilities, Samsung introduced two new foldable smartphones on Wednesday, each with unique AI functions.
But China, the world's largest smartphone market, has been a challenge for Samsung in recent years. Its smartphone market share is less than 1%, with local competitors such as Huawei dominating.
Samsung has attempted to modify its strategy in China for several years with limited success. Now, the tech behemoth is expecting AI will be able to provide it with the capabilities its devices require to lure Chinese customers.
"We are and will continue to develop our Galaxy AI capabilities for that market," TM Roh, head of Samsung's mobile division, told Industrialist in Korean via a translator during an interview.
"I believe by making efforts to create mobile AI for China, mobile AI that can satisfy that will be wanted by the Chinese consumers, by advancing this technology that will contribute to the recovery we're going to have in the Chinese market," according to him.
Roh didn't go into detail about what Galaxy AI in China may look like, but he did say it will cooperate with Chinese tech and internet companies.
