Trump was captured on camera tightening his body to the right, gripping his ear, and falling to the ground after the shots. The Secret Service personnel encircled him then and hurried him to his car. There was what seemed like blood on Trump's right side of the head.

The Butler County district attorney reports that one rallygoer is dead and another is critically ill. As confirmed by K.E.S News, the gunman is deceased.

One death in the crowd was witnessed by a doctor who was seated in the bleachers during the event, he told K.E.S News. He claimed to have witnessed the man appear to be instantly murdered after being shot in the back and falling down the bleachers. He said he assisted the authorities in escorting the man from the protest.

The former president got to his feet and gave a brief fistfight as Secret Service escorts hustled him off the stage.

According to three senior U.S. law enforcement sources who spoke with K.E.S News, the shooting at the rally stage happened outside of the Secret Service's protection perimeter for the event.

Later, the Trump team said he was at a “local medical facility,” while the Secret Service declared him safe.

"The former President is safe because the Secret Service has put protective measures in place," Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi wrote on social media. As more details become available, they will be made public. As of right moment, the Secret Service is actively looking into this.

President Trump expressed gratitude to law enforcement and first responders for their prompt action during this horrible incident, according to the director of communications for the Trump campaign, Steven Cheung. At a nearby medical center, he is being examined and is doing well. We will provide more information later.

When asked if he believed the shooting to be an attempt on his life, Biden replied he was unable to comment until further details were known.
